Travel

Visa

As Puerto Rico is an unincorporated US territory, please verify the visa requirements to visit the US from your passport-issuing country here.

Transportation

We recommend flying into Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU). If you are just coming for the wedding, we recommend arriving Friday, February 23rd (we will host a welcome event this evening), and departing on Sunday, February 25th. However, there is so much to experience in Puerto Rico - we highly recommend staying longer if you can!

Note: We will be in Puerto Rico the week leading up to our second ceremony (starting February 19th). Please let us know if you'll be in town early as well!

For transportation during your stay, we recommend either uber/taxi (which is generally reliable and affordable in the SJ area) or renting a car from the airport if you want to explore the rest of the island.

Places to Stay

For the wedding weekend, we recommend staying in Viejo San Juan, within walking distance to the venue. We suggest the following hotels:

- Hotel El Convento ($$$)

- Palacio Provincial ($$$)

- Decanter Hotel ($$)

- Villa Herencia Hotel ($$)

- Navona Studios ($)

Additionally, you can find Airbnb options here. All these accommodations options are within a 5-10 minute walk from the venue.

Explore the historic city that celebrates Puerto Rican culture and is dotted with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the forts San Felipe del Morro and San Cristóbal, as well as the old city wall. Stroll down the beautiful Paseo del Morro or Paseo de la Princesa, pop into shops to browse local artisan works, eat in hidden restaurant gems, and enjoy the sunset from a rooftop bar.

Beaches of the West

Picture of Beaches of the West

While quite the drive from San Juan, the beaches of the west coast of Puerto Rico are worth the journey. Whether you pick one to relax at one for the day or hop around visiting several, you will see some of the best shorelines Puerto Rico has to offer. Here are some to consider (but there are many more!):

South West - these Cabo Rojo region beaches all feature calm, clear water & light sand

- Boquerón: our personal favorite with a cute colorful town and our "home base", also home to a few manatees

- Combate: incredibly long beach with coral and fish

- Buyé: has cute colorful houses near the shore

- Playa Sucia: bay with a lighthouse you can hike to

North West - where we go for a little adventure

- Rincón: the surf town

- Crash Boat: lots of fish near the dock

- Peña Blanca: if you bring snorkeling gear, we guarantee you'll find turtles feeding just offshore

- Guajataca: features a tunnel, a walk through overgrowth, and large waves crashing on impressive rocks
